See the Northern Lights in Canada

Best Time and Places to See the Northern Lights

Winter (December to February) is the best time to see the Northern Lights in Canada. This is especially true in the non-Arctic areas. Two places to see the Northern Lights in the Canadian Rockies are Banff and Jasper. A more secluded place to enjoy the Northern Lights in Canada is Iqaluit, Nunavut, nestled along the shores of Hudson Bay and positioned directly under the aurora oval. Churchill, Manitoba, is also one of the best places to see the Northern Lights, according to the Canadian Space Agency.
